Southrepps Classical Music Festival will be in the village from 31 July till 6th August. Every year we are given access to some of the most talented young musicians from all over the world in our little village.
All concerts take place in St James's Church, Southrepps (NB location of Masterclass). A Festival pass can be purchased for £65 & grants access to every concert. Conducted by Stephen Richards Wednesday 2nd August Evening Recital | 7.30 | £15 The Festival is proud to present a very special evening recital with Festival favourites Susanna Hurrell, Rupert Enticknap, Ben Johnson & Jonathan Mcgovern. They join forces with Tom Primrose on the piano. This evening of song will culminate in a performance of Brahms's famous 'Liebeslieder Waltzer' Thursday 3rd August Jennifer Pike | 12.30 | £10 Star violinist Jennifer Pike makes a welcome return to the Southrepps Festival Sean Shibe & Friends | 7.30 | £15 Classical guitarist Sean Shibe returns to Southrepps and is joined by the Southrepps ensemble in a fascinating and specially devised programme that explores literary & international perspectives on Catalonia with particular reference to the Civil war period. Composers include Boccherini, Bruno Dozza and Ravel. Not to be missed Friday 4th August Young Artist Recital | 12.30 | £10 Tom Primrose guides our young artists through a programme of song . Martin James Bartlett, Piano | 7.30 | £20 Martin James Bartlett returns after his sell-out recital last year. The former BBC Young Musician of the Year has continued to add prizes and career accolades to his name. The Festival is thrilled to welcome him back to what promises to be a Festival highlight Saturday 5th August Ben Johnson & Tom Primrose | 12.30 | £10 Ben Johnson & Tom Primrose present a special lunchtime concert of English Song. They will explore the music of Benjamin Britten & his teacher & mentor, Frank Bridge Mozart Requiem | 7.30 | £20 Ben Johnson conducts the massed forces of the Southrepps Sinfonia and a specially formed Southrepps Singers to present Mozart' Requiem, left unfinished at his death. The programme will also include his Symphony No. 1 in E♭ major, K. 16 written in London when Mozart was just eight years old. Susanna Hurrell also sings 'Exulate, Jubilate'. Sunday 6th August Coffee Concert | 11.30 | £10 The Southrepps ensemble present Beethoven and Mozart in this years ever popular Coffee Concert Gala Concert | 7.30 | £20 Our performers join forces to celebrate the end of the 2017 Festival.
